"Lily Black - they were awesome!" - Kate Pierson (The B-52's)
"This high-volume, high-energy pop punk outfit drew a crowd that filled up half a block..." - Zoë Madonna (The Boston Globe)
Lily Black is Boston's premier punk/pop indie dance band. Beginning in 2014, when they were still in high school, the band began a 5-year stint of gigs across New England, playing all-ages events, festivals, Oktoberfests, Punk Proms, Halloween shows, house parties - everything and anything.
With wild live shows, Lily Black has built a sizable following in Boston, drawing large crowds for several years running at both the "Make Music Harvard Square" festival, and "Somerville Porchfest" (the latter of which earned them a mention in the Boston Globe.) They're widely recognized as one of the most exciting and promising young bands on the New England music scene, packing clubs with fans of their high-energy punk/pop/ska/indie blend - and will be featured in an upcoming documentary on women in the Boston music scene by videographer Dave Habeeb.
Since 2015 Lily Black has released three EPs, all of which continue to be spun on college and non-comm radio nationwide. Their most recent EP, "Cover it Up," charted on several CORE stations.
Led by captivating singer Lilly Senna, the band opened for the B-52's at Hampton Beach Casino in June 2018, lighting up a crowd of 2,200, and earning a huge shout-out from music icon Kate Pierson.
In December 2018, their EP "Cover It Up" was positively reviewed in Drumhead Magazine.
The band's first studio video, shot by Ian Barrett, will be released in Feb 2019, and they've begun working on their fourth EP - all while continuing their demanding live schedule, which shows no sign of slowing.
